Kia ora Tātou,

This is just a brief post to introduce myself and my frame of reference. I am a confusing mixture of Scottish and Yorkshire heritage now living in New Zealand. I have a wonderful and supportive wife who puts up with me charging around coaching sports and trying to put big hours back into the community. I also have two tamariki who delight and surprise me. I am Rugby crazy and unfortunately have been forced off the field having a nasty leg break playing for my beloved Kiakoria last year.

This Blog is one of my places for reflection. I am doing it as part of the Mindlab assessment but I feel it could grow into something bigger. I also have posted in our great school blog the Siren. I am quite self-critical and often quick to take the blame. I really enjoy teaching and have taught in a number of contexts both in New Zealand and Scotland. I currently teach at Otago Girls and am in my fourth year there.

I hope you enjoy my blog and it can inspire some interesting discussion to help me further reflect on my practice. If you are on twitter you can find me @mascara_snakex, this is a reference to the wonderful Captain Beefheart. #Trickeythoughts
